High Island is the Origin of All the Geological Features in Sai Kung. High Island has an Ancient Supervolcano that last erupted 140 million years ago, The volume of erupted ash is estimated to have exceeded 1,300 cubic kilometres, which can cover the whole of Hong Kong. The Original Diameter of the Volcano's base of The High Island Supervolcano, is estimated to be 18km. Heading to the largest sea arch in Hong Kong and East China Seas - "Guan Gong Cave" in Basalt Island! "Guan Gong Cave" is a 45-metre-high sea arch at Basalt Island, the forces of sea and wind have helped the development of it. Bluff Island Cave is actually a sea tunnel more than a sea cave or sea arch. It's 25 metres above the shoreline and 30 meters long and there's another sea cave right on top of the sea arch.
