After being closed almost 3 years in the end of 2019, now sunrise at Borobudur temple is very limited quota, 100 persons per hour.
Only a lucky person who gets the special ticket for climbing up. I recommend you to book the tour as earlier as possible.
If you are not lucky to get Temple Structure ticket, you are still possible to visit Borobudur temple by buying Ground Temple ticket on the spot.
Especially on Monday, the main temple of Prambanan is closed. People will just be allowed to see the main temple far away from the yard.
I highly recommend you not to have a flight in the same day with the tour because for both temples it takes full day tour, started in the morning from Yogyakarta city and finished in afternoon.
