Forbidden City-The Palace MuseumThen walk north to the Forbidden City, the place where the Ming and Qing Emperors resided for more than 500 years. It is the largest and best-preserved Imperial Palace in the world. You will visit some of the imporant places like:
- It is the south and main entrance to the Forbbiden City. Ming and Qing emperors believed that the Meridian Line went right throught the gate. (pass by)
- The largest wooden structure in China and the most important place in the Forbidden City where the Emperor used to work and hold important ceremonies. (pass by)
- The name of this hall indicates maintaining the harmonious relationship between things. It was used for banquets and later for imperial examinations, which was under the supervision of the emperor. (pass by)
- The Inner Court of the Fordden City used to serve as the living quarter for the Emperor while the outer court was the working place. (pass by)
