Baluarte y murallas de San CarlosThe walls of San Carlos, are located, raised by the sea, next to the Plaza España, in the old town of Cadiz. Its construction was completed in 1784 by the military engineer Antonio Hurtado. This bastion could house 90 artillery pieces and contained 55 vaults for different uses. In some of these vaults, wells were built to store the snow that was brought from the mountains of Cadiz.
