Great SphinxNext on the agenda is the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities that is housing the most valuable collections of artifacts and antiquities of its kind. The more than 100.000 items in the museum include some 1.700 artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun, including the solid golden mask that covered the pharaoh’s head. Other treasures to be found at the museum are reliefs, sarcophagi, papyri, funerary art and the content of various tombs but also jewelry, and ornaments of all kinds. Sculptures and statues are also to be found at the museum. An entire hall is dedicated to the royal mummies of 11 kings and queens.
