Athabasca GlacierSightseeing: View the glacier from designated roadside viewpoints and nearby trails. Short Hike: Walk the Toe of the Glacier Trail to get close to the glacier’s edge (about 1 km round trip). Photography: Capture stunning views of the glacier, surrounding peaks, and moraine landscape. Interpretive Signs: Learn about the glacier’s history and retreat through informative signs along the trail. Rest of the time will be allocated for transportation between spots.
- Bow Lake is a serene alpine lake along the Icefields Parkway, known for its crystal-clear turquoise water and dramatic mountain backdrop. Fed by glaciers from the Wapta Icefield, the lake reflects surrounding peaks like a mirror on calm summer days.
