-
Bo-kaap3. Bo-Kaap – 30 mins We take a stroll through the vibrant Bo-Kaap, one of Cape Town’s oldest and most colorful neighborhoods. You explore rows of brightly painted 18th-century houses set against cobbled streets and the backdrop of Signal Hill. Bo-Kaap is home to the Cape Malay community, descendants of enslaved people and political exiles brought from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and East Africa by the Dutch in the 1600s. Their unique blend of cultures gave rise to a rich heritage of spice-infused cuisine, Islamic traditions, and architectural beauty. We uncover stories of resilience, cultural pride, and religious devotion as we pass historic mosques, family-owned spice shops, and friendly locals. This is also a fantastic spot for Instagram-worthy photos, especially in front of the iconic pink, turquoise, and lime-green homes that symbolize Bo-Kaap's spirit of freedom and identity.
-
Atlantic Rail4. Atlantic Seaboard Drive – 45 mins We cruise along Cape Town’s glamorous Atlantic Seaboard, often called the "Millionaire’s Mile." As you sit back and enjoy the coastal breeze, we pass through Mouille Point, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, and the luxurious Clifton with its four famous beaches. We stop at Maiden’s Cove, a lookout point between Clifton and Camps Bay, offering dramatic views of the Twelve Apostles mountain range, the deep blue Atlantic Ocean, and — on clear days — even Robben Island in the distance. This is one of Cape Town’s top photo spots, and we give you time to capture the beauty.
-
Hout Bay5. Hout Bay Drive-Through & Harbour Viewpoint – 20 mins We pass through the charming seaside village of Hout Bay, framed by majestic mountains and a crescent-shaped bay. Once a quiet fishing community, Hout Bay is now a favorite coastal suburb known for its natural beauty and lively harbor. We slow down near the harbor so you can take photos and enjoy the view of Sentinel Peak rising above the Atlantic. Your guide will highlight the area's unique history, marine economy, and local way of life. You'll also spot fishing trawlers, seafood stalls, and families feeding seals from the docks.
-
Duiker Island6. Duiker Island Optional Seal Cruise – 40 mins If you'd like a closer encounter with nature, you have the option to join a scenic 40-minute boat cruise to Duiker Island (ZAR 120 pp). This rocky outcrop is home to a colony of wild Cape Fur Seals, and the cruise offers spectacular ocean and mountain views, especially of Chapman’s Peak. You’ll feel the sea spray and hear the calls of seals as they laze on the rocks or dive into the surf. The cruise is safe, suitable for all ages, and departs from the harbor with a local licensed operator.
-
Chapman's Peak Drive7. Chapman’s Peak Drive – 30 mins We continue our journey along the breathtaking Chapman's Peak Drive, often hailed as one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world. Hugging the mountainside between Hout Bay and Noordhoek, this 9-kilometre route offers 114 dramatic curves carved into the cliff face — an engineering marvel with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. You’ll feel as if you’re floating between sky and sea as we navigate this spectacular route. We make time for you to stop at one of the famous viewpoints where you can step out, breathe in the ocean air, and capture unforgettable photos of the towering cliffs, turquoise waters, and vast open skies. Your guide shares the history behind the road’s construction and its role in film, tourism, and Cape Town’s culture. Chapman’s Peak is not just a road — it’s a highlight of the journey.
-
Noordhoek Farm Village8. Noordhoek Farm Village – 30 mins We take a relaxed break at the charming Noordhoek Farm Village, a favorite among locals and travelers alike. Tucked at the foot of Chapman’s Peak, this laid-back village blends rustic farm vibes with Cape Town’s signature artisan culture. Here, you’ll have time to stretch your legs, browse boutique craft shops, or sip on barista-made coffee at one of the locally loved cafés. Whether you’re craving a flaky pastry, handmade gelato, or organic tea, you’ll find it here (own account). With its white-washed cottages, shady oak trees, and welcoming energy, Noordhoek Farm Village is more than a stop — it’s a soulful pause in your day where you can connect with the slower pace of Cape life.
-
Scarborough9. Misty Cliffs & Scarborough – 20 mins We take a tranquil drive through the hidden coastal gems of Misty Cliffs and Scarborough, two of Cape Town’s most untouched and wind-swept villages. Nestled within the Cape Point Nature Reserve buffer zone, these seaside hamlets are known for their raw beauty, crashing waves, and quiet isolation. As we cruise along the coastline, you’ll see rugged cliffs plunging into the ocean, wild fynbos vegetation, and maybe even spot a basking dassie or soaring hawk. Misty Cliffs gets its name from the soft marine mist that often rolls over the rocks, giving the area a mysterious, almost magical feel. Scarborough, just beyond, is a tranquil village where eco-conscious locals live in harmony with the land and sea. This stretch of the drive gives you a moment to reflect, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the peaceful side of the Cape few visitors ever see.
-
Cape Point Ostrich Farm10. Cape Point Ostrich Farm – 15 mins We make a short stop at the fascinating Cape Point Ostrich Farm, located just a few minutes before the Cape of Good Hope entrance. This locally owned family farm has been raising ostriches since 1996 and offers a fun, educational glimpse into one of South Africa’s most iconic animals. You’ll get the chance to see these giant flightless birds up close, feed them by hand, and take playful photos as they strut, peck, and pose. Your guide shares interesting facts about ostrich farming, their behavior, eggs, and how they’ve shaped the local economy for generations. It’s a light-hearted stop where you connect with nature and enjoy a few laughs — especially when one of the birds tries to steal the spotlight in your selfie!
-
Cape Point Nature Reserve11. Enter Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve – 5 mins Right after visiting the Cape Point Ostrich Farm, we enter the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Table Mountain National Park. Your guide handles ticketing at the gate (or scans your pre-paid pass), and we begin exploring one of South Africa’s most awe-inspiring natural areas — a region rich in biodiversity, dramatic landscapes, and maritime legends. Keep your eyes open for ostriches, baboons, elands, and dassies as we drive deeper into this untouched wilderness.
-
Cape of Good Hope11. Cape of Good Hope – 30 mins Our first stop inside the reserve is the legendary Cape of Good Hope, where the wild Atlantic Ocean crashes against jagged cliffs and the windswept shoreline. This dramatic headland once struck fear into the hearts of sailors and became a milestone for early explorers rounding Africa. We walk down to the iconic Cape of Good Hope sign, where you’ll take your bucket-list photo standing at one of the most southwesterly points of the African continent. For those feeling adventurous, you’ll have the option to hike up the short but rewarding 15-minute trail that leads to a lookout point atop the nearby ridge. From here, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views over Diaz Beach, the Cape cliffs, and the surrounding ocean — a moment of peace, perspective, and nature at its finest. Whether you stay by the waves or head uphill, this stop is one of the emotional highlights of the tour.
-
Old Cape Point Lighthouse12. Cape Point & Old Lighthouse – 1 hour We continue deeper into the Cape Point Nature Reserve to the iconic Cape Point promontory, where towering cliffs and endless blue ocean views define one of South Africa’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes. You’ll have the choice to hike the scenic uphill trail or ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular (ZAR 90 pp) to the top of the ridge, where the Old Lighthouse proudly stands — built in 1859 and once guiding ships through treacherous seas. At the summit, enjoy 360-degree views over False Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and the fynbos-covered hills below. On clear days, you may even spot whales or dolphins offshore. Your guide brings the story to life with tales of shipwrecks, explorers like Vasco da Gama, and legends of the Flying Dutchman ghost ship said to haunt these waters. You’ll also have time to visit the souvenir shop, relax at the Two Oceans Restaurant, or take a short walk to the Lower Lighthouse viewpoint.
-
Boulders Beach Penguin Colony13. Boulders Beach Penguin Colony – 45 mins From Cape Point, we follow the coastline toward Simon's Town, a historic naval village and home to the world-famous Boulders Beach African Penguin Colony. Here, you’ll walk along elevated wooden boardwalks that wind through natural dunes, giving you incredible close-up views of the adorable, endangered African Penguins. Watch them waddle across the sand, swim in the surf, and nest under shady bushes. Your guide shares fascinating stories about their breeding habits, threats to survival, and how Boulders became one of the few accessible penguin colonies on mainland Africa. If time and conditions allow, you may also visit the public beach section, where you're sometimes lucky enough to swim alongside these quirky creatures. Don’t forget your camera — this is easily one of the most photogenic moments of the tour. Entrance Fee: ± ZAR 190 pp (or included if prebooked)
-
Simon's Town14. Simon’s Town & Lunch – 45 mins We take a slow drive through Simon’s Town, one of South Africa’s oldest towns and the base of the South African Navy. Its Victorian buildings, harbor views, and naval history give it a unique charm. You’ll learn about Just Nuisance, the only dog officially enlisted in the Navy, whose statue stands proudly in Jubilee Square. We stop here for lunch at a seaside restaurant (own account). Your guide can recommend top local spots — from fresh seafood to Cape Malay cuisine — all with views over False Bay.
-
Kalk Bay15. Kalk Bay – 15 mins We continue along the False Bay coastline to Kalk Bay, a bohemian fishing village filled with art galleries, antique stores, and vibrant cafes. You’ll have a chance to stroll the main street, snap photos of colorful fishing boats in the harbor, or spot seals lounging on the docks.
-
Muizenberg Beach16. St James & Muizenberg Beach Huts – 20 mins Our scenic drive continues past St James, known for its beautiful tidal pool and line of brightly painted beach huts — a classic photo stop. Just a few minutes away, we reach Muizenberg, where surfers ride the waves beneath another stretch of iconic colorful Victorian beach cabins. We pause here for a final leg-stretch and photo moment before heading back to the city.
- 17. Return to Cape Town – ± 17:30 As the day winds down, we take a relaxing drive back along the mountain routes or highways (depending on time and traffic). You’ll be dropped off at your hotel with unforgettable memories and a camera full of Cape Peninsula highlights. (pass by)
