Overview
If you want to experience a different kind of kayaking, we invite you to discover the Rio de las Vueltas. This activity offers the opportunity to connect with nature from the water, away from crowded trails. Explore the views of Mount Fitz Roy, the Rio de las Vueltas valley, and the Andean forest from a completely unique and different perspective.
Once equipped with technical equipment (wetsuit, boots, vest, helmet, and paddle), a vehicle will take us 21 km along RP 41 to the Laguna Condor viewpoint. After a safety briefing by the guides, we will begin the descent down the Rio de las Vueltas. During the trip, we will spot native fauna while contemplating the scenic beauty of Mount Fitz Roy and its satellite peaks, and we will enjoy a country brunch surrounded by nature.
Once equipped with technical equipment (wetsuit, boots, vest, helmet, and paddle), a vehicle will take us 21 km along RP 41 to the Laguna Condor viewpoint. The Kayak and Rafting operational base is located on a corner of Av. San Martin 872 where there are two domes.
The experience begins at Comarka Rafting & Kayak's operating base located at Av. San Martin 872, El Chalten, where guides will greet passengers and provide them with equipment (technical and safety) and a briefing on its use.
Once the equipment has been delivered and the group has changed, they will travel 21 km along Highway 41 towards Lake Desert. Once we arrive at the activity's starting point (Laguna Condor Viewpoint), the group will disembark to finish putting on their gear (jacket, vest, and helmet). After the technical and safety briefing, they will begin the activity from the right bank of Laguna Condor.
This section of the river is characterized by being shallow and meandering, with wonderful views of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Eléctrico, among others.
We will travel approximately 12 km, which will take an hour and a half to two hours (depending on river flow and wind conditions). Halfway through the tour, we'll stop for a country brunch and then continue to the landing area, Mirador del Fitz Roy (10 km from Chalten). Once there, the transfer will take you back to El Chalten at approximately 1:30/2 :00 PM.
