This is an experience gift voucher. The recipient will book the experience after they redeem the gift voucher.

Overview

What we do differently from other Golf Cart Tours is we cover much more ground riding into Charlotte's West Corridor rather than staying solely in Uptown Charlotte. We include stops in the Charlotte's oldest active Black neighborhood, Biddleville, McCrorey Heights and Brooklyn which is unique to our experience. This open-air golf cart tour not only educates but also supports local Black businesses, connecting you with entrepreneurs making a difference. Ideal for history enthusiasts and those looking to explore Charlotte's cultural heritage, this intimate journey promises to inform and inspire.

  • Camp North End
We start at the popular shopping and food complex known now as Camp North End that was originally a manufacturing plant and military depot.
  • Here at this Historic Black neighborhood we talk about its importance to Charlotte's place in the national civil rights movement along with the incredible story of the historic church that serves as a meeting spot, place to gather and worship, and some of the historic homes inside.
  • Biddleville is the oldest surviving historic Black neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located about one mile west of Uptown along Beatties Ford Road, it was established in 1871 and grew up around the Biddle Memorial Institute (now Johnson C. Smith University), a historically black university founded during the Reconstruction era. Here we cruise past historic homes and make a stop at Five Points Plaza where we we see one of Charlottes newest monuments that memorializes its importance to the National Desegregation Movement, important JCSU alum and more.
  • As we approach uptown we'll pass the famous Bank of America building before cruising into 2nd ward. (pass by)
  • We will cruise into 2nd ward passing Charlottes Museum District and talk about the story of the founding of the historic Gantt Center. (pass by)
  • We will take some time to view and talk about one of Charlottes few remaining Brooklyn neighborhood buildings that are still standing. A neighborhood that was leveled by urban renewal.
  • The Bank Of America Stadium
Here at the site where the Carolina Panther's play lies several Charlotte historical hidden moments.
  • Romare Bearden Park
At Romare Bearden Park we take a moment to talk about Charlottes most famous visual artists and his contributions to the Harlem Renaissance
  • Truist Field
Here we discuss Charlottes legacy of Negro League Baseball.
