Chocolates PerezThe origin and manufacture of chocolate in Villajoyosa dates all the way back to the 17th century when sailors practiced the coastal trade trading salted fish and almonds for cocoa pods. The very first chocolate factory was established in 1810 and there once was more than 30 chocolate factories in this town. We will visit the small family run chocolate factory of Chocolates Perez and taste the best chocolate in town! ***Sundays the chocolate factory is closed and will not be included on this day. Instead our guide will take you to a local bakery to try a local sweet**

VillajoyosaAfter visiting the small family run chocolate factory we will visit the beautiful colorful old town of Villajoyosa. We will walk along the coastal promenade and into the heart of the old town all while listening to stories from our guide.

Casco antiguo de alteaAfter visiting Villajoyosa we will travel to Altea where we visit its historical town observing the many white homes, cobblestone and narrow streets full of character, the beautiful white and blue tiled roof church, and from the plaza incredible panoramic views of the nearby mountains and sea. We will have time to get to know this wonderful town, shop, and eat in one of Altea’s great cafes or restaurants.
