Sa Paper & Umbrella Handicraft CenterThis is the area where handicrafts are produced, and visitors are always welcome to watch the production. You can watch the full steps of the production of famous Thai handicraft such the famous Thai silk, umbrella making, celadon ceramics and silverware, just to name a few themed workshops. A great variety of artisans and workshops along one long main street where even the most modest shopping and art enthusiast will enjoy wandering around. We have chosen some of the finest workshops and handicraft factories around to browse, watch, try and buy locally made handicraft. Industries that will pass the revue touch the very heart of the Thai handicraft industry. While silk weaving has long been an outstanding example of Thai culture, the umbrella-making industry has long been a colourful favourite. Visitors can get an up-and-close view of how umbrellas are made as well have the chance to purchase them.

San KamphaengSkilled craftsmen transform teakwood with the help of simple tools into elegant furniture with delicate carvings. Also fascinating to watch is the production of lacquerware where even eggshells are used to achieve unusual designs. For generations, families have mastered and transferred the finer art of the well-known Celadon Ceramics. The art of making these exquisite ceramics is modelled on Sawankhalok pottery, dating back to the Sukhothai period. Then make a stop to observe the intricacies of lacquer-ware and silverware before returning to your hotel.
If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
