Residing in small villages up high in the mountains in Thailand , Burma , Vietnam, Cambodia , Laos and China 's Yunnan Province, they traveled from China to Southeast Asia in the early 20th century. China Burma and Laos make more waves of Akha people and now more people live in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in Thailand 80,000 people
The Akhas speak Akha, a language belonging to the Loloish (Yee) branch of the Tibetan-Burmese sublingual family. The Akha language is closely related to the Li Su language and is said to The Akhas occupied the fields of Baoshan and Tengchong in Yunnan before the Ming raid in 1644.
