We will end our tour where we take the bus that will leave them at the San Javier station (which is the point where we start our tour)

Here begins our experience. We will meet at Metro San Javier station, where our local guide will give a brief introduction to Medellín and Comuna 13, explaining how the city is divided into comunas and why this area was strategically important during some of the most difficult periods of its recent history.

Comuna 13From San Javier station we will take a public bus, included in the tour, to get to Comuna 13 and have first contact with the daily life of its inhabitants. During the journey and upon arriving in the neighborhood, our guide will tell us part of its recent history, the military operations that marked this territory, and the impact they had on the community. We will also begin to discover the murals and urban art expressions that accompany its transformation process.

We will visit a local art gallery, a space dedicated to the local art of Comuna 13. Our guide will explain how the art and expression of the community's artists became an important part of the neighborhood's transformation process.

We will take a break to enjoy an artisanal mango biche ice cream, a traditional flavor from Comuna 13. It will also be a time to learn a little more about the daily life of the neighborhood and share some recommendations with our guide.

We will arrive at one of the viewpoints in Comuna 13 to enjoy a panoramic view of the neighborhood and Medellín. From this point, our guide will explain part of the community transformation process and the impact that the escalators have had on the mobility and daily life of its inhabitants.

Escaleras Electricas De La Comuna 13We will finish the tour at the Electric Stairs of Comuna 13. During the ascent, our guide will explain the history and transformation of the neighborhood while we see the different murals and works of art we find around us. We will also talk about the meaning of some of these works, the role of art in the community, and how the stairs transformed the mobility and daily life of its inhabitants.
