After several minutes of travelling, we reach out a small neighborhood that contrasts with the big city since it is a quiet place where people get income from small businesses and agriculture activities. Continue driving in the middle of the parish town to access in a sinuous sandy road. See green pasturelands, burley fields, livestock and Andean Cowboys that begins their work day.
-
Antisana Ecological ReserveWatch the Andean Condor in its natural habitat from the viewpoint that is located at the Isco Condor Observatory . Spot a great Andean scenery during the journey until you arrive in the lagoon entrance. Some wildlife could be spotted on the distance by the road. Start the walk along the trails near the lagoon to watch from the top the entire extension of the lacustrine complex, if weather allows, you can see the Colossus Antisana Volcano. If it is your lucky day, not only will you see Condors but you will also be able to see the famous Andean Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus).

Teodoro Wolf, German scientist in 1875, also known at that time as "State Geologist." Finally came the famous British mountaineer Edward Whimper in 1881. As we continue our path, we will find a beautiful lagoon. This lagoon is part of the Antisana water reserve that provides water to more than 600,000 inhabitants of the city of Quito. For this reason, this entire reserve has been protected since 1992. Antisana was declared a National Park in 2023.

On the way back, we can take a break to have lunch at Tambo Condor. This place has a viewpoint from where you can see the Andean Condor's nest. At least 3 and 5 Condors can be seen from here.
