1. Meet us in the neighborhood

We'll meet at Chen Clan Academy Metro Station, one of Guangzhou's most interesting historic neighborhoods.

From there, we'll walk together toward our home and introduce you to the neighborhood and what we'll be cooking that day.

2. A little introduction to Cantonese cooking

Once we arrive, we'll have a welcome drink and talk about the little things that make Cantonese food taste like Cantonese food — from aromatics to sauces and seasoning.

3. Get cooking

This is a hands-on cooking class, not a demonstration.

We'll cook together in our small home kitchen and guide you through each dish step by step.

You'll learn techniques such as steaming, pan-frying, quick-boiling and marinating.

4. Sit down and eat

The best part.

We'll sit around the table and enjoy everything you've just made, along with Chinese tea and conversation.

5. Take the recipes home

The idea is that this shouldn't end when you leave Guangzhou.

We'll share the recipes and practical tips so you can recreate some of what you learned in your own kitchen.
