Return details
The tour ends at Kongens Nytorv, close to Nyhavn, allowing guests to continue to explore Copenhagen independently.

  • Hoejbro Plads
Højbro Plads is located just off the main shopping street Srøget. From here, you get a fantastic view of Christiansborg Palace and Børsen (the former stock exchange). Not to mention Bishop Absalon on Horseback!
  • Christiansborg Slot
Today, we find the fifth version of Christiansborg Palace on the island of Slotsholmen, which translates to “The Palace Island.” It houses the Danish Parliament and is home to politicians and royalty alike.
  • St. Nicolaj Church
The current building represents a modern reconstruction of the church, which was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1795. Learn about the fires (there was more than one!) and one of the city's most conspicuous landmarks. The tower offers some of the best views of the city centre.
  • Royal Danish Theater (Kongelige Teater)
The Royal Danish Theatre today consists of the Old Stage on Kongens Nytorv and the new Copenhagen Opera House and the Royal Danish Playhouse, both located down by the harbour front.
  • Kunsthal Charlottenborg
Today, Charlottenborg also houses the Kunsthal Charlottenborg and the Danish Art Library. Each year, the graduates of the Art Academy hold an extensive exhibition where you can experience up-and-coming artists and maybe buy some of their work at reasonable prices.
  • Nyhavn
Nyhavn, with its colourful houses lining the canal, is a Copenhagen must-see! Someone who used to live in Nyhavn was Hans Christian Andersen. In house No. 20 he wrote the famous fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea". During his lifetime he also lived in No. 67 and No. 18.
  • Copenhagen Opera House
The Opera House in Copenhagen is one of the world's most modern and best-equipped opera buildings. The A.P. Møller Foundation donated it to the state in August 2000, and it was inaugurated in 2005 on the island of Holmen just opposite the Amalienborg Palace.
  • Amalienborg Museum
Today, Amalienborg is the official residence of the Royal Family. The former queen, Margrethe, lives in the palace on the left, closest to the waterfront, while her son, King Frederik, lives opposite her with his wife Mary and their four children.
  • The construction of Marmorkirken, also known as the Marble Church and Frederik's Church, dates back to the 1700s. Nowadays, the church is very popular with couples who want to get married. The wedding bells chime nearly all day on Fridays and Saturdays. You can enjoy a great view from the top of the dome, which can be visited every day.
  • Sankt Annae Kirke
St. Ann’s Square (Sankt Annæ Plads) is the border between the city centre neighbourhoods of Nyhavn and Frederiksstaden. The square is home to park space, statues, embassies, and more.
  • Kongens Nytorvs Skating Rink (Skojtebane)
Kongens Nytorv is a large central square where many historical buildings can be seen around the square: • The Magasin du Nord (French for “Shop of the North”) is the name of a Danish chain of department stores, whose flagship store is located at Kongens Nytorv. • The Hotel d’Angleterre (French Hotel of England) started out as a restaurant called "The Strong Man’s Garden". They later added rooms to the restaurant. Through the years, this hotel has housed famous names such as Winston Churchill, Bill Clinton, Ozzy Osbourne, Niel Diamond and many more.
