Begin at the awe-inspiring Corinth Canal, where the Aegean and Ionian seas unite through one of the world’s greatest engineering feats. For those who choose the canal cruise option, sailing between its towering cliffs is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Continue to Ancient Corinth, once a powerful city where temples, fountains, and marketplaces thrived, and where Apostle Paul spent 18 months spreading his teachings. Rising above, the Acrocorinth fortress invites you to explore a legendary stronghold tied to Pegasus, Medea, and timeless Greek myths.

Along the way, admire the countryside, coastline, and mountains of the Peloponnese, and enjoy a traditional lunch in the peaceful village of Ancient Corinth.

  • Archaia Korinthos
The ancient city of Corinth holds a significant place in Greek history for its strategic location, prosperous trade, and influential culture. Situated between the Ionian Sea and the Aegean Sea, Corinth controlled the narrow Isthmus, a key trade route connecting the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and founding location of the Isthmian Games. It had a strong military presence as a strategic location for many wars over its ancient history and it experienced a series of political changes, alternating between periods of independence, Spartan control, and domination by other regional powers. Even after a period of decline during the Roman Conquest, it maintained its cultural importance until it underwent a significant urban renewal project initiated by Julius Caesar and later completed by Emperor Augustus. The city was rebuilt with a Roman architectural style, including temples, basilicas, and a forum. It became the capital of the Roman province of Achaea and a bustling cosmopolitan center.
