Overview
Creating beautiful metal or beaded jewelry in the Meru region provides a unique opportunity to take home a precious piece while supporting local community empowerment. In just a few hours, you'll engage with traditional styles and gain insight into the Meru tribal culture and history.
- 🛠️ You will learn to create jewelry in traditional styles at our vocational studio.
- 🌍 TST's work focuses on empowering the local community through vocational programs for impoverished young adults.
- 🎨 A small donation of $10 can provide art supplies for a class at the daycare.
- 🍽️ A contribution of $25 feeds one child for two weeks, while $75 helps a family start a business.
- 🏠 Donations of $200 cover living costs for a child in residential care for one month.

From the Arusha-Moshi highway, you will turn up a paved road at Kilala - look for signs for Two
Mountain Lodge and Kahawa. Go to the end of the paved road, then turn right at Nkoaranga Hospital. Continue about 50m until you see a sign for The Small Things Pickup Point, and park there.

You will get to know our vocational jewelry studio, where we help young adults to build creative businesses, and learn about our students' journeys. They'll guide you through some basic techniques and help you to design your piece. You'll bring home at least one piece of beaded or metal jewelry that you've made yourself!
