Locals say it's the work of Jack “Smiley” Jackson, a cheerful patron in life, tragically killed in Room 1009. His ghost is said to still make the rounds, keeping the spirits flowing.

Once the heart of bustling commerce, the plaza also bears scars of tragedy, including the souls lost beneath the wheels of early electric trolleys.
