DerrySetting off in the morning, we will walk the defensive walls of Derry City built between 1613 and 1619. We also have an option to visit Derry’s most recognised landmarks, the Guildhall, the Tower Museum and the Peace Bridge.

Grianan Of AileachNext we travel over the border and into Donegal. Here we visit Grianan an Aileach and Burt Castle. Said to have been built by the Tuatha De Danann, the ancient stone ringfort of Grianan an Aileach dates its origins to 3000 BC. Located 250m above sea level, this spectacular hilltop site was visited by St Patrick who once baptized the high king Eoghan. Not far from here we visit the stronghold of the O’Doherty clan. The remnants of the three story Burt Castle on this lofty domain makes for an impressive sight.

BuncranaWith time on our side we finally travel towards Buncrana within the Inishowen peninsula of County Donegal. Here we visit the peaceful Swan Park. The park is located on the river Crana with a 14th century Norman Keep located nearby.
