The ancient site of Haththikuchchi, also known under the modern name Rayangana, is an archaeological site picturesquely situated amidst rock boulders. It's also a pilgrimage site, as it is believed to be the place of King Sirisanghabo's self-sacrifice.

Yapahuwa Rock FortressYapahuwa is sometimes called Sri Lanka's second Sigiriya. You can climb to the very top of the monadnock for an amazing 360-degree panoramic view. Halfway to the top, you will see the elegant palace stairway which is richly decorated with various sculptures and carvings.
