Day trip to Covadonga lakes, sanctuary, Cangas and Lastres from Gijon
Overview
The bus will pick you up early. After about two hours driving through the mountain roads of Asturias, you will arrive at the Covadonga Lakes.
An expert guide will give you details about the park and the area. Afterwards, you will have an hour at your leisure to explore at your own pace, enjoy the scenery and admire the Enol and Ercina Lakes.
Next, you will head to the Sanctuary of Covadonga, where you will take a walking tour to see the Basilica of the Virgin and the Cave of the Santina, and discover the history of Pelayo. You will have free time to explore the sanctuary before continuing on to Cangas de Onís, a key town in eastern Asturias. There, the guide will give you a brief introduction, and you will have about two hours to have lunch, walk along the Roman bridge or rest.
On the way back, the bus will take a panoramic route along the Cantabrian coast, passing by the beaches of La Espasa, La Isla and La Griega. Finally, we will stop in Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, to enjoy the views from the viewpoint of San Roque.
You will be back in Gijón around 7:30 pm.
