Rafting on the Debed River
Rafting in Armenia is a relatively new activity that has already become one of the most popular types of adventure tourism. We offer you a real adventurous rafting tour in Armenia, ranking with a hike from Horomayr Monastery to Kobayr Monastery.
Early in the morning we will drive to Lori region. We will stop at Horomayr Monastery and from here we will start our hike. Horomayr Monastery is built on the edge of a cliff, 1 km south of the village of Odzun. The monastery was founded in 7 cases and was found among the representatives of the spiritual centers of Armenia. There are caves and khachkars in the monastery complex. The main church was built presumably in 1187.Our route will pass through a picturesque canyon and eventually lead us to the Kobayr Monastery. This monastery was built in the 12th century. Despite the fact that part of the monastery fell into the gorge, the surviving part impresses with its beauty. The name of the monastery reflects its history in an interesting way, as it combines two languages. “Kob” is a cave in Georgian, and “air” is a cave in Armenian.
