Overview

Experience the best of Nassau from a luxury air-conditioned bus that will take you on this interesting and exciting tour highlighted by a visit to world famous Atlantis Resort. Drive through Nassau to reach Fort Fincastle, set atop the highest point of the island, from where you will enjoy a beautiful view of the harbor. At this location you will have time to explore the fort and the Queen Victoria Staircase, do some light shopping on your own and take pictures. Continue with a panoramic view around the island of New Providence. Then its off to Atlantis Paradise Island for a short stop. The drive continues from Paradise Island through the colorful residential area before returning to the port.

Upon disembarking your ship, please make your way to the entrance/exit of PIER 2 (not zone 2)within the Port. Look for the local rep holding a white sign with blue letters that says DISCOVER NASSAU TOUR. Please provide your name for check in. You will then be escorted to the waiting busses.

  • Fort Fincastle
    Fort Fincastle is a fort located in the city of Nassau on the island of New Providence in The Bahamas. The fort was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore. Built around 1793 on Society Hill, the fort overlooks the city of Nassau and the Queen’s Staircase, and is often accessed that way by visitors on foot.
  • Queen's Staircase
    The Queen's Staircase is a walkway of 66 steps in Nassau, the capital city of The Bahamas. It was carved out of solid limestone rock by 600 slaves between 1793 and 1794 to create an escape route from the fort above and is a major landmark of Nassau. This is located at the same stop as Fort Fincastle, ask your guide if you need assistance.
  • Government House is the official residence of the Governor General of the Bahamas, located in Nassau. It was built in the colonial days and was the residence of the Governor of the Bahamas (pass by)
  • This stone arch was named after Governor John Gregory, who served around 1850, and it was opened to the public on January 19, 1852. When you pass through the arch going south on Market Street, you cross the line that divides downtown Nassau from the rest of the island. The small tunnel forms a picturesque entrance to the community known as Over The Hill and the old settlements of Grants Town and Bain Town. (pass by)
  • The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory
    The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory story begins in the heart of downtown Nassau, the Bahamas in the year 2000. George Bates, originally from the United Kingdom founded a recipe that would inspire his “Original” Rum Cake. Everyone loved his recipe so much that he decided to open a small Rum Cake shop, a store that has since then grown into the most favorite brand of Rum Cake in The Bahamas.
  • Atlantis Bahamas
    The highlight of Paradise Island is world famous Atlantis. Atlantis is a magnificent resort encompassing over 3,000 hotel rooms, 20 restaurants, a wide variety of stores, a 123-acre water park, beautiful beaches and the largest casino in the Bahamas. The total cost to construct Atlantis was over $2 billion.
  • Next you will travel to Paradise Island an island connected to New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbor. Hog Island Lighthouse, constructed 1817, is at the western tip of the island and can be seen from the cruise port. (pass by)
