Overview
On this tour you will experience Bonaire's Donkey Sanctuary - a habitat that was created to rescue donkeys needing extra care, food and water. You will interact with the donkeys throughout the drive as they regularly "say hello" and attempt to put their noses through the car window! At the sanctuary you can also purchase a few carrots to feed a few lucky donkeys while on your visit.
At the sanctuary you will also see a few other things. The Special Care Unit is an area of the sanctuary where we will learn about the services provided to bring a distressed donkey back to health. You can also visit the garden where you will see local plants, tortoises, and iguanas.
Climbing up the watchtower will give you a great view of the entire sanctuary and a nice photo opportunity. Your tour will finish with a refreshing drink from the terrace, where you can spot some beautiful pink flamingos over the salt lake.
