Your private guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Samarkand and escort you to the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border. Upon arrival, you’ll cross the border on foot, complete the necessary formalities, and continue the journey to Penjikent
-
Journey to Marghuzor, the initial lake, located at an altitude of 1,640 m. Its name means "eyelashes" in Tajik. The lake is celebrated for its vivid colors. Afterward, you will head to Soya Lake. Its name translates to "shadow" because this lake is situated between towering cliffs, keeping it in shade for most of the day. The third lake, Gushor, is located just 400 meters from Soya. These two lakes are linked by a flowing stream. Named "watchful," this lake is encircled by steep cliffs. The fourth lake, known as Nofin, is the main lake, which translates to "umbilical cord" owing to its length of 2.5 km. The fifth lake, which lies 1.5 km from Nofin and passes through the picturesque village of Pardut, is Khurdak lake, meaning "the baby," as it is the smallest of the seven. The sixth lake, Marguzor, is the largest and, for many, the most stunning of the Seven Lakes.
-
Now, we drive (Optional trek from Sixth Lake) to Hazorchashma – the seventh and highest of the Seven Lakes is situated approximately 2,400 meters above sea level. The term Hazorchashma (or Azorchashma) translates to “a thousand springs,” as the lake is nourished by two rivers along with numerous streams and springs. Hazorchashma is the final lake in the Shing River gorge. The distance is 2.5 km one way, with an elevation gain of 340 m.
