Then, about an hour after departing, arrive at Fontaleoni, a family-run winery founded in 1959. Follow a sommelier into the cellar and learn the estate's evolution from mixed farming to producing some of the region's finest Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti. The Poggio ai LaghiAfter lunch, hop back in the car to head to the next vineyard estate (30-minute drive). Arrive at Poggio ai Laghi, a winery located on the plateau between two lakes. The microclimate here makes it ideal for growing Sangiovese, Merlot, and Vermentino. Your second sommelier-led tasting includes six carefully selected wines that showcase the estate's signature elegance. Between sips, you'll sample their rich olive oil, aged balsamic vinegar, cured meats, and brushetta.
