Chinese citizens (including those from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) must book when online tickets for the Forbidden City are available. Once the online tickets are sold out, participation in this tour will not be possible. Furthermore, according to the regulations of the Palace Museum, Mainland Chinese citizens can only book tickets using their ID card number and Chinese name.
