Panch Mahal - Fatehpur SikriFatehpur Sikri was founded in 1571 by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar. Before building the city, Akbar visited the Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti, who lived in the small village of Sikri. The saint blessed him with a prophecy that he would have a son and heir. When this came true, Akbar decided to shift his capital from Agra to Sikri and built a magnificent imperial city, naming it Fatehpur (City of Victory) after his successful Gujarat campaign.
