Saiko Iyashi no Sato NembaSaiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba stands on the western shores of Lake Saiko, called “the most beautiful village in Japan.” There were about 20 thatched-roof houses in the kabuto-zukuri (samurai helmet-shaped roof) style, with dahlias, mountain lilies, yarrow, and other lovely flowers blooming along the roadsides. The village which is said to have already been in existence in the time of the Takeda clan and was destroyed by a landslide during a typhoon in 1966. Forty years later the village's traditional thatched roofed houses were reconstructed and reopened as an open air museum and traditional craft village where people can learn about the culture and try out and purchase different local handicrafts.

Chureito PagodaThe Chureito Pagoda, located in Arakurayama Sengen Park, is a must-see attraction. This park is renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Chureito Pagoda, Mt. Fuji, and Fujiyoshida City at the foot of the Mountain. To reach the Chureito Pagoda and the observation deck, visitors must climb 398 stairs. The view from the top is considered one of the best in Japan and is listed as one of the 21 must-visit places for photographers from around the world. While the cherry blossom season is ideal for capturing the iconic image of Mt. Fuji surrounded by cherry blossoms and the five-storied pagoda, the park offers stunning scenery throughout the year as the landscape changes with the seasons.

Arakura Fuji Sengen ShrineThe shrine was built in 705 and has served as the guardian god of Arakura Village for over 1,300 years. Oshino HakkaiOshino Hakkai is a village known for its eight clear spring water ponds, which are recognized as one of the "Top 100 Famous Waters of Japan." It is classified as a Natural Monument and is part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji. As the water filters down through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, it results in exceptionally clear spring water that the locals deeply value. Visitors can taste this magical spring water for free, feel its sweetness and purity, and experience the legend of longevity.
-
