Together with Futarasan Shrine and Rinnoji Temple, it forms the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Shrines and Temples of Nikko.” The shrine complex includes about 55 buildings, featuring 8 National Treasures and 34 Important Cultural Properties. Highlights include: Yomeimon Gate – Known as the “Gate of Sunlight,” it features over 500 intricate carvings and is admired for its lavish decoration and unparalleled craftsmanship. Admire the Yomeimon Gate, known as the “Gate of Sunlight,” with over 500 intricate carvings. See the famous Three Wise Monkeys, the Sleeping Cat, and the Imaginary Elephants.
- 14:00 – Irohazaka Winding Road (Drive-through) A scenic mountain road, part of Japan’s “Top 100 Roads,” connecting Nikko City to Lake Chuzenji and Oku-Nikko. It spans 15.8 km with a total of 48 sharp curves. Particularly stunning in autumn, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of vibrant autumn foliage. From the Akechidaira Ropeway, visitors can also view Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji. (pass by)

Autumn’s red leaves make it an especially photogenic spot.
