Humantay LakeThe tour starts with hotel pickup between 4:00 and 4:20 a.m. The group travels by minivan to Mollepata, where they enjoy a buffet breakfast in the restaurant ‘Casa Salkantay’. He then heads to the Soraypampa camp, from where the hike to the Humantay lagoon begins. The hike, from 1 to 2 hours, is demanding due to the altitude (4,200 m above sea level). Upon arrival, visitors have free time to take pictures in the lagoon. Before returning, the guide performs a ceremony to the ‘mother earth’ with the tourists. The walk back takes about 1 hour and, in Soraypampa, the group boards the minivan to return to Mollepata and enjoy a buffet lunch. Finally, he returns to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 p.m.
