It was built in the 11th century during the Khmer Empire. It is located on a cliff on top of a mountain with a lush forest below it. The temple was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2008.

Koh Ker TempleAfter visiting the Preah Vihear temple, Stop for lunch on the way to the Koh Ker archaeological site and then explore Prasat Thom ( Pyramid temple), Prasat Linga ( Linga's temple), Prasat Prum (Jungle-temple) and Prasat Neang Kmao ( Black princess's temple).

Prasat Beng MealeaOn way back to Siem Reap, we stop and visit the Beng Melea temple, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area.
