Overview
Your horseback riding trails offer some of the best sights of both natural landscapes and impressive architectural accomplishments of historical Armenia. The tour is suitable for all levels of riding experience. The most suitable horse along with the saddle will be chosen for each rider, depending on size and riding experience. The tour allows any guest the opportunity to discover impressive natural wonders and historical monuments hidden in the woods or countryside. Your trek will start with a ride along the rim of Debed Canyon. You will then ride down the hill towards scenic Dzoraget valley, and following a picnic lunch, continue towards Hnevanq, an impressive medieval monastery on the opposite bank of the river, founded in the 7th century by Orbelians, a branch of glorious Mamikonyans princely family. Your next stop is the hilltop fortresses lying over the river Dzoraget. And finally, you will take a sunset ride through cornfields back to the equestrian center.

The equestrian center is located to the South of Aygehat village on the western rim of Debed Canyon. To get to here take Odzun - Stepanavan H35 Road. 5 km away from Odzun reach Aygehat and pass a smaller bridge on the same road. Next, take the road leading into the village and follow the way marks.

Dzoraget RiverHere you will find medieval forts on top of steep rocky hills, between which the rapid and stormy river turns into a quiet backwater creating the most exciting scenery of the valley. From here on your ascending trail N bends to the left and goes high onto the northern rim of the canyon.

Hnevank MonasteryHnevanq is located on a hillside of the Dzoraget valley where the combination of green nature and volcanic felsites stones is really impressive. The 7th-century monastery consists of three churches, a vestibule, and residential, economic, and auxiliary buildings that were entirely rebuilt in the 12th century by the princely House of Orleans, a branch of glorious Mamikonyans princely family, the ancient leaders of Armenian military forces.
