Tour Experience Your visit begins with a short introductory video explaining: • The history of the mine • The discovery of the Cullinan Diamond • The geological formation of diamonds You are then escorted into the high-security operational mining area, where you will experience: • A model of underground tunnels to understand mining conditions • The main shaft and hoisting system in action • Views of the massive open-cast “Big Hole”, one of the largest of its kind • Mining machinery and operational processes The tour typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours for the surface experience.
