Glendalough Monastic SettlementSet in a beautiful valley in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains National Park, the 6th-century ancient monastic city of Glendalough is the best-preserved ruins from the period when Ireland was the only Christian place in western Europe and a centre of learning. Following a guided tour of the remains, there are lots of beautiful trails to explore along the two lakes.
