We will head over the Kingston and Erskine bridges crossing the River Clyde each time before soon entering into The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. GlencoeAfter here we drive up through the highland villages of Crianlarich and Tyndrum then the road brings us high up into Rannoch Moor. We then stop at the majestic Glencoe and hear about the haunting past of The Massacre of Glencoe back in 1692. Depending on the time of year and weather we will stop at Fort William or the Glencoe visitor centre for a bite to eat.
-
GlenfinnanThe road takes us out west to Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised the Jacobite Standard on the 19th of August 1745. Here we stop to take it all in the history of the area and then the viaduct. Here you will see the Harry Potter Bridge and maybe see the Jacobite Steam Train ( Hogwarts Express ) crossing over. The train runs from the 7th of April to the 24th of October. Superb views of Loch Shiel from the viewpoint this loch served as the Black Lake at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films, notably appearing in The Prisoner of Azkaban, The Goblet of Fire, and The Half-Blood Prince, where the loch's stunning mountain scenery was featured as the home of sea creatures.
