Venture around the cultural centre to spot wallabies, emus and maybe even echidnas in the bush. Come away with a deeper understanding of the significance of Gariwerd for the Indigenous people.

MacKenzie FallsProbably the most famous waterfall in Victoria, we hike down to the base and back to marvel at the sheer amount of water and to feel the fresh spray in the air. The hike is about 250 steps to the base and back and if you prefer an easier flat walk out over the top of the falls this is absolutely fine! If ever Mackenzie Falls were closed to the public this stop would be substituted for a peaceful hike to Silverband Falls.

The BalconiesWe then enjoy a hike along the shady path through the gumtrees and fascinating rock formations out to The Balconies, here you will see the famous ‘Jaws of Death’ with majestic views and scenery, featured in the Japanese Animation ‘Princess Mononoke’.

Boroka LookoutA picture stop at the marvellous Boroka lookout perfectly depicts the incredible scenery. Depending on the weather and visibility we may alternatively head to Lake Bellfield to walk out along the damn and feel dwarfed in-between the two mountain ranges.

Halls Gap General StoreBefore heading ‘up the mountain’ we relax in the picturesque town of Halls Gap, right in the heart of the Grampians National Park for time to grab lunch (at your own expense).
