We start at the fisherman boy statue, a symbol of Ålesund's maritime history, and learn how the clipfish trade shaped the city.
Along the water we discover Norway's engineering : tunnels, bridges and the world's first full-format ship tunnel. I will also explain how Norway used its oil and gas assets for long-term prosperity.
On the Königsstraße (Kongens gate) we admire the Art Nouveau, created after the city fire of 1904, and I show details that most visitors overlook.
Finally we enjoy the view of the harbour, the city and the mountains. A digital brochure with insider tips completes the tour.

Meeting point
Meeting point is the statue "Fiskergutten" (search at Maps). Your guide will wait there about 10 minutes before the tour starts with a white A4 sign. Photos from the guide are okay, videos please not.
