Overview
Wetlands and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve offer an environmentally respectful journey through a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meet your guide and group at the dock, located 3.2 km inside the reserve, where the kayaks await to start your adventure.
- 🛶 Kayaking in sit-inside kayaks (tandem or single) lasts about 2 to 3 hours, with a visit to Pirates Island to see Frigate Birds.
- 🌅 Starting times vary seasonally, accommodating around sunset; alternative times can be arranged to avoid peak heat hours.
- 💧 Bring essential items: a bottle of water, sunglasses, hat, light comfy clothes (long sleeve shirt), swimsuit, towel, comfortable shoes, and an extra set of clothes for later.
- 🌿 Biodegradable eco-friendly sunscreen and mosquito repellent are recommended for this adventure.

3.2 km (2 miles) inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, driving south from the main entrance. Look for the Yucatan Outdoors / Kayak Sian Ka’an sign on the lagoon side of the road, behind the Último Maya restaurant. Free parking is available at the meeting point.

Start your day paddling through the peaceful lagoons and mangrove channels of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve. As the sun rises, observe birds and wildlife becoming active while exploring quiet waterways away from the crowds. Your guide will introduce you to the mangrove ecosystem and provide basic kayaking instruction along the way.
