Colorado Riverway Recreation AreaTreat yourself to a day of "river magic." Admire the golden light and ever-changing desert colors on the nearby canyon walls and distant La Sal mountains. After check-in, your group will enjoy air-conditioned transportation along the world-class scenic Highway 128 on the way to the river. After a group safety talk and PFD (flotation vest) fitting, we launch on the Colorado River. Look for wildlife along the route: you might see bald eagles, river otters, great blue heron, migratory bird species, desert bighorn sheep, beavers, gray fox, and more. Your guide is educated in geology, flora, fauna, and human history of the area and can't wait to share with you! This family-friendly stretch of river is characterized by calm water sections (ideal for taking a dip on a hot day) punctuated by class I-III rapids (depending on seasonal flows). Splash factor is biggest in May and June.
