Avakas GorgeAfter hotel pick up, starting at 08.30h, we will drive to the meeting point of Avakas Gorge. Here you will receive a short briefing and then an escorted mini hiking into the Avakas Gorge followed by a coffee break.

Lara Bay Turtle Conservation StationAfter the coffee break we will drive to Lara Bay. Lara Bay is one of the few remaining havens for loggerhead and green turtles to nest. Aluminium cages are placed over the nests in order to protect small turtles from foxes and enable them to escape to the sea as soon as they emerge from the sand. Turtles nest from the middle of May to the end of August. We will visit the Turtle Conversation Project and will have half an hour for a swim before we drive back to the hotels.
