The Semi-Subterranean Temple is located in the eastern sector of the Kalasasaya Temple. The walls were made of finely finished red sandstone ashlars alternating with large vertical pillars. Some of the pillars still display anthropomorphic details in low relief (such as a foot). 175 anthropomorphic club heads carved from sandstone, ignimbrite, and limestone are embedded in its walls and along the perimeter.
