Our tour guide will meet you at the corner of Camps Bay drive and lower Tafelberg road at Kloof neck parking next to public bus stop.
Our hike up Table Mountain via Kasteelspoort begins at Kloof Nek car park, approximately 200 metres above sea level. In the early morning, the mountain provides welcome shade, making this route an excellent choice on hot summer days.The adventure starts along the famous Pipe Track, a scenic contour path traversing the western slopes of Table Mountain above Camps Bay. This relatively easy section offers spectacular views of the Atlantic coastline and Lion’s Head.
After about an hour, we leave the main trail and turn onto a narrower path that climbs diagonally beneath the dramatic Twelve Apostles. As we enter Kasteelspoort Ravine, the route steadily zigzags upward through the gorge. Several steeper sections require light scrambling and the occasional use of hands to negotiate larger rock steps, adding an enjoyable sense of adventure without being overly technical. Reaching the back plateau of Table Mountain is a rewarding milestone, but the journey is not over yet. The trail continues across the summit, winding through a series of valleys and rocky landscapes, with a few ladders along the way. By late morning, we arrive at the Upper Cableway Station, where breathtaking views await.
