Day 2: enjoy a beautiful sunrise and breakfast at the rim. Begin the steep, 2-3 hour descent to Segara Anak Lake. At the lake, take a long break to enjoy the scenery, visit the natural hot springs, and have lunch. After lunch, begin the 3-4 hour ascent to the Sembalun Crater Rim. Set up camp for the night. This is your base for the summit attack. Have an early dinner and get as much rest as possible.
Day 3: start your summit attack in the early morning. The climb is steep and takes about 3 hours, but the sunrise view is worth it. Return to the campsite for a proper breakfast. Descend to Sembalun village, with lunch served on the way. Arrive in Sembalun and transfer back to Senaru.
