The library was funded by Lady Mcmillan in conjunction with the U.S Carnegie Foundation and opened in 1931, in honor of Lord William Northrop Mcmillan. One can take pictures of the attraction site and enter the library to have a look at it.

Opened in 1902, this is the oldest hotel in the city. It is an iconic hotel because the then princess Elizabeth visited on her safari to the Treetops hotel in 1952.
