Overview
We provide a controlled environment for safe horseback riding for kids and beginners, and a petting zoo. We have a 24,440 sqft equestrian center with a spectacular view of Mississippi river sunsets. We also rent apartments where you can see the animals and beautiful scenery right outside your windows. Our horses are calm and happy in this place. They love to be petted and groomed. The goats, pigs, and chickens are friendly, and will eat out of your hands. Rub the pigs belly, scratch the goats between their horns and feed meal worms to the chickens and watch the smiles grow on your family's faces. The ducks provide comical quacking as they waddle around the property. The pigs grunt as they seek out food anywhere they can find it. The goats stay with the horses and butt heads with each other. The miniature horse is absolutely wonderful with kids. Everything we do is slow, controlled, and safe. We move along at your pace. Please wear sturdy shoes. No flip flops around horses.

Meeting point
From Galena, take Blackjack road towards Chestnut mountain ski resort. After about 6 miles turn right at the sign for the Goldmoor Inn. Go to the bottom of the hill - turn left - take the first entrance on the left. We are in the large yellow Equestrian Center.

Slow and controlled horseback/Pony/Unicorn rides. We start slow and we end slow. Wrangler Roger leads the horse/pony/unicorn and riders take turns one at a time. Folks not riding can walk alongside, take pictures, lead the mini horse, and pet the other animals before, during, and after the rides. Focus is on kids, but we also give rides to beginner adults (200 lb. weight limit). No trail rides. We have friendly horses, goats, mini pigs, guinea pigs, dogs, chickens, ducks, and a miniature horse for you to meet and pet. Safety is first priority, followed closely by fun. We operate rain or shine in our 60’ x 160’ indoor riding arena, outdoor riding arena or in pastures surrounding our 24,440 sqft facility. Hand feed chickens, goats, and mini pigs. Watch the ducks splash in the water. Walk among a herd of friendly horses. Price is a group rate (max of 6 people). We normally are available at 10 am and 2 pm daily. Contact host BEFORE booking to schedule a time slot. We do not guarantee availability if time is not coordinated before booking.
