The large pillared hall is one of the most important architectural areas of the temple. The temple complex consists of three areas surrounded by walls. The first is that of Amun (ancient Egyptian Ipet-sut “place of election”). The second area is the District of Month and the third area is that of Mut. The oldest remains of the temple that are still visible today date from the 12th dynasty under Sesostris. The temple complex was continually expanded and rebuilt until the Roman Empire. Outstanding among the ruins are the temples of Amun-Re with a total of ten pylons. Among other things, you will see the holy lake, it has a size of 120 × 77 meters and is located south of the central temple building, the lake is fed by groundwater. Marvel at the large pillared hall, statues, pylons and obelisks.
