Vicus Caprarius – the City of WaterA few steps from the Trevi Fountain, over nine meters below today’s street level, the archaeological surveys carried out between 1999 and 2001 during the renovation of a cinema brought to light a large ancient residential complex. The term “City of Water”, commonly used to define the archaeological area of Vicus Caprarius, is however due to the element that undoubtedly characterizes the site the most. In the 2nd century AD, a large water reservoir was built in a part of the building complex, probably used until the 6th century AD
