Departing from Drake Bay, you'll sail through stunning coastal waters to reach the protected Caño Island Biological Reserve. Once there, you'll enjoy two guided snorkeling sessions in different reef locations, with crystal-clear visibility of over 24 meters (78 feet). Get ready to spot over 60 species of marine life, including colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, rays, and maybe even reef sharks.
After exploring beneath the surface, we’ll head to the beautiful beach of San Josecito, where you can relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy a traditional Costa Rican lunch by the sea.

Drake BayAt 7:15 a.m., the group will meet up and board the boat to Caño Island. During the 45-minute ride, keep your eyes on the water—you might spot dolphins along the way! And if you're joining us between June and September or December and April, there’s even a chance to see majestic humpback whales. Before snorkeling, your guide will go over all the instructions to make sure everyone feels confident and safe in the water. Whether you're a beginner or experienced snorkeler, you'll be fully prepared to enjoy this underwater paradise to the fullest.

Cano IslandFins, snorkel, and mask—you're all set, let’s dive in! To make your experience even more comfortable, life jackets are available so you can effortlessly float as you explore the incredible marine world around you. Caño Island boasts nine dive sites, and your guide will select the best ones for snorkeling based on depth and visibility—choosing the shallowest and clearest spots for the best experience. Did you know the water here is so clear you can see up to 24 meters (almost 80 feet)? That means you’ll even catch glimpses of sea life on the ocean floor! After about 45 minutes in the water, we’ll take a break on the shores of Caño Island. While you relax, our team will have tropical fruits, fresh water, and snacks ready to help you recharge. Then it’s time to jump back in for your second dive—get ready for some of the best snorkeling in Costa Rica. You might spot seahorses, starfish, schools of tropical fish, octopuses, and so much more!

Playa San JosecitoIf the weather cooperates and time permits, we’ll make a stop at San Josecito Beach—a perfect spot to unwind, soak up the sun, and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in Drake Bay. After some well-deserved relaxation, we’ll hop back on the boat and head to Agujitas de Drake, where we’ll share a delicious lunch together and wrap up this incredible adventure around 1:30 p.m.
